Finally, justice!

I was on my way home tonight along the Westgate freeway, and there's this seemingly perennial roadworks going on. Well, they had the 80 km/h signs out, and I never speed in road works areas.

However, an idiot in a Commodore zoomed up my arse, and flashed me a few times. I couldn't go anywhere, so I braked and pulled in behind another car going 80 km/h - just like me. Then he zoomed off, going even faster than he did before.

And then there was a flash!

Finally, justice.

We used to play with a strip of road in the UK where they had two or three cameras within about 10 km. It was a three lane road but the limit was 50kph. I used to sit just under the limit and wait for some dick to sit right on my back bumper and just before one of the cameras came up I'd just pull over, and -- VROOOM - FLASH!!

Nasty, but fair!! :P:P:P

It is actually polite to move left if practicable if someone wishes to pass and is indicating so by flashing their lights.

Although in saying this I do not condone speeding or flashing lights aggressivly.

A situation may be in a 100 zone someone doing 75kmh up a hill in the right lane when there is still room in the left lane and the vehicle behind is wishing to pass at 100.

It would in this situation be polite to move left if the vehicle behind flashed their lights to indicate wishing to pass.

In fact it would be law to be in the left lane on multiple lane road that is posted OVER 80kph eg. 90, 100 or 110kph unless overtaking!

This poses the problem of clogged main freeways with three or even four lanes all moving at 90kph in a 100 zone. No one is overtaking and you couldn't do without the extra lane or you would slow down even more.

I usually just stick to the left, turn the radio up and cruise.

I usually stay out of the right lane. All throbbing 1.4 litres of power don't make for an exciting overtaking fest.

I just happened to be in the right hand lane of two (down from four) for a short while. I didn't get out of that (normally middle right) lane again until my freeway exit some 22 km later.

This guy was just stupidly aggressive. And finally he got his just desserts. I'd hate to be working so close to so many nutters, so I'm usually very good with speed limits around road works zones.
