What tyre pressures do you run?
I'm talking beetle here.
From memory the factory placard says 19 front and 27 rear.
Some hillclimbers told me that you can change the pressures but always keep a 4psi difference front to rear.
Personally I set mine at 23 front and 28 rear.

depends on the event
- track- 32 front, 38 rear
-motokhana- 30ish front, 48 rear.
hillclimb- 32 front, 36 rear.
but like a stiff tyre, hat feeling the walls flex.
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!

At Oran Park on Saturday I started with 23 front and 28 rear
After 10 laps the tyres were 28 fornt and 33 rear.
I was stoked that I could get the same pressure increase out of all 4 tyres not just the rears. That means the fronts are working.
My pyro readings were
RF Inside 45C Middle 44C Outside 48C - more neg camber and 1-2 psi hot needed
RR Inside 56C Middle 56C Outside 60C - more neg camber or more roll stiffness
LR Inside 45 Middle 50 Outside 60 - direct result of camber on unloaded side of car
LF Inside 36 Middle 38 Inside 47 - must've written the figures the wrong way around or something is wrong.
Hope yall find that interesting. I'm still learning about what the readings mean.
Measurements are taken from 25mm inside the edge of the treadear on the inside and outside. The probe pokes about 5mm into the tyre tread.

Hello Mr CT some readings might be a little out but that might be due to some unbalanced weight, have you tried same tyre pressures all 4 corners? GO fast JVL

24 front 28 rear.
The scientific method I used in coming up with these figures is:

Hi JVL,
No I haven't tried the same pressures on all 4 corners. There is so little weight in the front of a beetle that I'd assume that the tyres would just
show signs of over inflation. I might try that next round just to make sure.
One of the Porsche tuners told me to aim for 30 hot. I found that worked for Paul and Jak but I needed 32. I'm only talking rears here.
I think my fronts are still a little high. Perhaps 21 or 22 cold would be better.
