???How to reduce image sizes???
Can someone please post a step by step on how to reduce the kb size of an image.
I have tried a couple of times and can only do it when uploading from the camera itself, so if it isn't alreadt in the camera I can't choose
to have a reduced copy made at a lower quality.
I have photoshop 5.5 and 6 which should do it but can't figure out how to.
Any help would be appreciated.

Image reduction
Steps (1 method)
1) Open your image in P.Shop
2) Click on the image Tab and then Select Image Size
3) Make sure constrain proportions and Resample image are ticked.
4) Resolution doesn't have to be any more than 72dpi for the web.
5) Make the image a nice size say 15cm wide in print size.
6) Click O'k
7) Go to the file Tab and click "save for web".
8) click on the 4-up tab
9) On each tab their should be the size that the image will end up, click the one equal to or less than 50kb.
10) if you want to be a bit more of a perfectionist you can nudge up the qulaity bar to the right hand side of the window until the photo is a close
to 50kb as possible.
11) This should work

Save for Web menu
- it won't let me print a screen shot to show this menu, but you should be able to navigate it fairly easy.
-if you wont to see all of the photo in this menu you can change the zoom in the bottom left hand corner.

The best jpeg cruncher I have found is on Corel Draw. Takes them from 150+ down to 20 or 30 with one mouse click brilliant.

I have photoshop 5.5 and the easiest way
I found was to go to 'file' and click 'save for web' ... this new screen will show your photo in the exact size it will apear on
the net. To reduce it click on 'image size' and reduce the percentage..... easy

If you are running Windows XP you can download a Powertoy called "Image Resizer" from here:
Windows XP Powertoys
This will allow you to right-click on any picture in Windows Explorer or similar and choose 'Resize' from the menu. It's fairly
straightforward.

Dean, I'm curious how you use CorelDraw to crunch Jpegs - do you mean Corel Photo Paint? CorelDraw is a vector graphic program...
Maybe its something new? I only have CorelDraw 7.

I previously used PaintShop Pro 7, before I got XP. Very easy to do.
