Speed cut EJ20T?
Anyone have a cure for my speedcut at 180kph. This is a Japanese spec ECU (stock Subaru). This happens at 170something kph road speed as I found out
at the drags, starts with what feels like rev limit then just cuts all fuel. I might be able to replace my existing Subaru VSS with an aftermarket
sensor that has half as many pickups, this might fool the ECU? What do you think?

Mine is also from an auto. The auto module has been unplugged and removed, just leaving the engine ECU.

places like MRT sell speed cut limiters for not much cash but you are exactly right just half teh output pulse to fool the cpu. I think there may
have been an article in autospeed about this but I'm not 100% perhaps a search of the site. What happens if you unplug the speed sensor? just out

I believe it upsets idle and low speed running. It may also effect AFR at higer RPM?, I'm not sure. Speed cut defenders are in the 300 paso mark.
Jaycar have a kit coming out in september for $44, so that seems to be the go. Check the jaycar site, they have quite a few automotive kits going.

just use less magnets.
The ECU runs different mapping if it thinks the car is moving, or so I am led to believe. Apparently the subaru's also shutdown the engine if it
detects it is at full load and not moving for too long.
I have my Mazda speed sensor running at a different ratio to the wheels than the standard mazda set-up, so when I am doing 260kph the ECU thinks I am
only doing 180kph. So my speed limiter is changed to 260kph. Of course I won't get near either of those.
