Genuine Fire Extinguisher Accessory

I was approached today by a guy, who said he had an original VW accessory Fire extinguisher for sale, it is not stamped VW anywhere but it is german, and made of brass.
Has anyone heard of these as a genuine accessory?

i've seen one of those in an early vw.....they are very skinny and long , would be cool to have one but don't think it'll be working, unless you get it reconditionned.....
