Do you really have that sort of budget Eirinn? I was always skint at 18. Nothings changed DOH! And especially with horses to feed and clothe!!!

Get in contact with Gold Coast VW Repairs. Jack is always doing up bugs for sale. You might be able to get him to do some custom work for you?

That is a chop top beetle so you will get a good one for a bout $5000 if it was a factoty Convertible then the price woudl start at around $15 000 and go up to about $25 000.

The genuine Karmann cabriolet has a straighter top on the windscreen which is one of the easiest things to look at first glance.

They also have wind up side passenger windows - and no roll bar.
95% of chops have a roll bar fitted

thats a wizard roadster who went bust a few years ago. I think I read recently that somebody else had bought their patterns and were making repro panels. You can pick one up cheap in the UK but you would pay around $2000 to get it back here.

Press studs on the windscreen is the most obvious sign of a chop top...

i think u might aim a little lower than the one in the pic eirinn ....u could easily get a chop top bug there were a few in the trader lately just need to make sure they have all the paperwork for the conversion. and 8 grand or so u could get a pretty damn nice bug.

By the look of the back of that pic it looks like a Wizard....

The original Cabriolets have a much nicer roof...that one looks a bit crap ........ to me anyway....

There are some bad roofs/rooves (whatever) out there :puke

Have a look at the different convertables and see which roof grabs you...also the body...Do you want the classic beetle vert ?
