Planning a trip Melb to Darwin, outback Qld.
Need some advice in planning my 11 week trip through the centre to Darwin next July returning to Gippsland through outback Qld. Any one have any
itineries, experience or advice. Doing it in a 1976 auto fi Kombi camper. Thanks |

1st thing is to determine exactctly what mechanical condition your vehicle is in, you should have full knowledge of this before you leave

make sure your kombi can go a fair way between fuel stops. stations are few and far between (and fuel cost a fair bit up there too). also, no matter
how good your kombi is mechanically, try to fit in as many spare parts (tyres etc) as it will take, because ... well, murphy's law...

get the RACV total care,i did this trip recentley and got put up in hotels ,car hire,and a bus ride from dawin to cairns and thay put the van on a
truck and delevered it to cairns too,all for under 200,also take manuals as you have to do some repairs your self but most workshops help out with
little bits and peices but you do it yourself and no charge,
