I had a mate that had a coil and some sort of thing that went "tick tick tick" hooked up on his HQ. Dogs stayed away after the first time but unlocking it was pretty hard. He eventually hooked up an external pushbutton switch to turn it off and on.

Haveing beers on a sunday and listening the the farm dogs yelping - Geez we were cruel then.

Maybe try putting heaps of pepper on your wheels. He will go to sniff the tyres and not be interested in them after copping a snout of pepper!

The electric fence unit still sounds like a great idea to me, if you think it's worth the effort. They come in small 12V units too!

I got a staffy and he doesn't like citrus juices and hates citronella oil. Spray a bit around ... after a few days he won't wanna go near there. Works for my chassis in the back yard...
