Small Generator pulley


Has anyone else seen a smaller pulley such as this? What's the deal? Did the previous owner just want more cooling/more amps?

Once on SBO some one posted the parts number of 356 Porsche that fit a VW generator / alternator - they gave the belt part # too.
Never found that post again

Apparently get a fair increase in cooling.

That is my guess :alien
