Not really surprised. My rubbers (ok, this was for EVERYTHING) were quoted at around $1400 - and type 3 rubbers are more exy than for beetle.
Are they West Coast Metric/no name or German? This will make a difference to the price...

yeah thats probably about right... i did mine recently, they were WCM ones.
1/4 vent rubbers are $120
Outer scraper $120
inner scraper $30
felt seal $20
bailey channel $80
so its about $370 for both doors... i just hope they last a long time

I'm gonna do all the rubbers in my bug soon. I think I will go WCM as they offer a lifetime warranty.

Adz and all
With rubbers... the price depends on the popularity... ie Beetles are always going to be cheaper cause theres heaps of them in the world and the
market will have a demand.
With the rubbers for a type 3 for instance... some are dearer because of demand and because some a still genuine from the factory.
Not all WCM rubbers are made by them
Take your Beetle Cal look front , side and rear windows rubber... there CHEAP cause theres not too much required for the mould to make them where as
a OEM type rubber with the groove is more because of the extra groves in them

clark rubber used to sell a few different types of generic automotive door rubber off a roll. it's never as good as the real thing though.
