Fitting 914 Rims

Just wondering if I have to make any modifications to the ends of the axles to get the 914s to fit my standard '71 beetle. Had a look on the weekend and forgot how much the hub-caps dome to cover the ends of the axles.

The stock discs require a bit of machining to the lip where the bearing cap goes to fit porsche 5 stud alloys like phone dials.

Alloy rims have a deeper section than pressed steel wheels, there shouldnt be any problem clearing the actual axle.

No problems, I have them on an IRS pan with the caps on and they fit perfectly. Did you get the longer bolts with them ? The standard VW ones are too short.

How hard is it to find the bolts? - just in case I don't get them with the rims
