FS: 1971 Super Beetle (Perth) $500 ono

Well, I've decided to not continue on restoring my beetle (had plans to do so when I bought it), and I am running pretty low on funds, especially with christmas coming, so I've decided to sell my beetle.

It's a 1971 Superbug, marone in colour, though the the paint work is not in the best condition.

It has 4 almost new tyres (rear ones arebout 6 months / 5000 km on them, and the front ones are a month old with about 1000 km on them) 15" / 165 wide tyres.

New brake pads were installed about a month ago on the front.

New clutch installed about 4 months ago.

Rego was recently renewed for another 6 months (expiring in 6/2005) in Western Australia, rego number BY-68863.

Now for the things not going so right with it.

The speedo isn't working (I suspect when me and my brother replaced the brake pads, the speedo cable came loose)

Over the past 2 week, the car has been extremely difficult to start (it will, but it's not starting like it used to) though when it runs, the old girl runs great.

The indicator lever is broken, has been for sometime, but there are 2 buttons on the dashboard for left and right indicators.

The handbrake lever (well the button thing) has broke over the past week, though it can be put back together (will try to put it back in the next day or 2)

Um, I think listing all my problems might be hurting my chances, lol, but it's better to be upfront with everything I guess, karma and all that.

I'm located in Victoria Park, 6100, about 5km south east of Perth CBD, phone number for me (David Garbutt) is 0438 912232.

I'm hoping to get $500 for the whole thing, but price is negotiable (welcome to offer me more of course :D )

*Edit Drove it to Fremantle from Vic Park and back today, was a bit hard to start and then remain on, but a little fiddling with the carby and it seemed to be alright. Drove pretty well too, anyhow, thought I might add this to the item description.

Do you have any photos mate?

(by rights I should get off my backside and go take a look but I'm a lazy bugger)

I might have a friend after a cheap runabout.

Was about to reply saying no I don't, and I don't even have access to a camera right now, but then I remember a few months ago I posted them up on my website.

http://images.evil-cow.com/garbsdotorg/car/

The car looks pretty much the same there as it does now.

*edit front tyres aren't the same as in the pics, they are the same look and brand as the rear ones
