EJ20t for $500?

got offered one today. missing the loom, ECU, turbo and peripherals.

My mate wants $400 bucks (mates rates) for it.

Is it worth that?

If it is in good nick that is fair price. I can get one as a bare long motor from the importers in brissy for $595 so you are getting it a bit cheaper. Does it still have the inlet mainfold or is the motor totally bare?

still has the inlet manifold and assorted fuel stuff and electrical connectors, plus the exhaust manifold.

The inlet manifold has a fair coating of oil film just behind the throttle body, don't know what that means

What do you reckon?

Haven't asked the wife yet, and we're pretty strapped at the mo, but if it's a good price then I will push for it.

I payed $400 including shipping to darwin for one missing intercooler, turbo, ecu, alternator but came with injectors and wiring. I'd offer him $200......

All the expensive stuff is missing. If you are someone who is new to subaru engines and conversions I would buy a complete engine first time around.

I don't rate it as a good buy.

that said, if you're building up a competition engine, you'd get rid of all those expensive bits anyway and this would be the starting place. So in a way in that circumstance it might save you money.

no offense dude... but you asked the question and now your answering it yourself.....

If you're building a competition engine you are not new to subaru engines so you would know if it was a good buy or not with out asking the question.

If you actually read my post I said " If you are someone who is new to subaru engines and conversions I would buy a complete engine first time around."

If you think it's a good buy then buy it. I don't so I won't.
