newbie too

Hi everyone

I have now been in chats for years, but find a need to, as I have a beetle.

We have purchased a 71s for my son, which will eventually become a daily driver for him (needs to get his license first)

But, unfortunately for me, I got bitten by his beetle, and now want one for myself.

We are looking at a 72s, which when finished will become my daily too. This one will have more money poured into it than the other. the other will be more of a 'do it yourself' thing (as we have the time, and I want son to learn and have respect for the beetles)

It is my own fault, I know. I should never have hopped into his car, and renewed my love for the beetle. But it is funny.

When I call around places looking for parts and bits and pieces, it's almost as though they want to hang up and call back to talk to partner.

They seem stunned when I explain I am the one with beetle fever, not my partner, and if he had his way, he'd probably try to shoot bug spray at the car in the hope it will disappear. hehe.

He loves the look of them, just not the expense in restoring them (I wasn't telling him average cost until their in the garage. It went like this...I swear babe, it'll only be a couple of hundred to clean and fix....and we can do most of it ourselves..hehehe)

I'm sure you all have the same chats with your partners.

Anyway, I will be posting some very silly things on the boards, and hope you will forgive and humour me. Oh, and if anyone can direct me to some good contacts here in brissy, I'd be grateful...bank managers included.

Cheers
Donna

HEHE

I could tell him, but where's the fun in that. Especially if the more he sprays the more I get. I'd love nothing more than a 10 car garage full of beetles, bajas and splitties, with one or two complete (for inspiration of course)

He's lucky the garage is only 2 car.

But my favorite thing is that the two cars we have running(one's a 6 month old corolla) sit outside whilst the beetles get the cosy garage.

And Big A (what I call him) is a vey patient man....he has to be....I sit up till late at night researching researching researching. And then buying buying buying. And tomorrow I'm off to buy some more...thanks Big A

But like I said, I am sure you all know this already.

cheers
Donna
