Cheap Split kombi for sale
Hey guys,
I bought this a couple of weeks ago off ebay, but have decided to pass it on (same story as with my singlecab split ute...i know, i know..please no
giving me shit!).
Basically, I feel I need a resto project needing less actual restoration (ie paint and some mechanical is ok) and have found an early squareback that
meets this criteria (to replace my mint 68 black square I had to sell a few months back).
Anyway, the kombi had rust as (you would expect) mainly in the following places:
(1) left and right sills..not totally rusted but would need some patching if not replacement
(2) a bit in the nose
(3) some rust in both sides of the body has been cut out with sheet metal pop-riveted in place and bogged over (would need patching and welding).
Also, a sunroof (approx 1.2m x 1.2m) has been cut into the roof.
A section has been cut out of the bulkhead, however a replacement bulkhead has been paid for and will be included with the car.
Last but not least, the rear tailights have been modded to take later kombi tailights.
So all in all, it needs a bit of welding (but not more than most other unrestored kombis...some areas are quite solid).
The kombi is as you see it. No lights are included, there is no motor, and no steering wheel/steering column.
The car with the bulkhead etc owes me about $1150 however I will pass it on for $1100 ONO. I dont want to lose much more than this on the car so if I
dont get close I will store it and restore some rainy day.
Pics to follow.
I'm located in Hughesdale, Melbourne (near Chadstone Shopping Centre) and my mobile number is 0408137017. Inspections obviously are welcome and will
give a better picture of the car.
Cheers,
Steve

BTW, I will also consider part trades depending on what it is! Of particular interest would be some nice 4 lug mags, a wood slat roof rack to suit a
type 3 squareback, swamp cooler (as if there'd be one floating around) etc or anything cool to suit a type 3 wagon.
Cheers,
Steve

Yep, there should be a rule against negative comments being made about items in the trading forums,..
It just isnt fair, can the mods remove that??

Hey Phat Head, wots with the hijack, don't think there is any need for those ill informed comments. Have u seen the car in person???
From the pics the car looks pretty solid, for a splitty that clearly needs work. I know for a fact Steve is genuine on the costs that he has incurred
and unlike others I will not mention he tells it straight when describing a car he is sellin.
I know Steve personally and he is simply lookin for that one car to replace his beautiful square that he sold.
unfortunately he bit off more than he has time for at the moment with the splitty, but that is no business of urs Phat rat.
The splitty needs work sure, but it is a splitty and bloody cheap if ya ask me at that.
Good luck with it Steve, it won't last long at that price mate, guaranteed.

Thanks guys..I know I used harsh language but I'm not trying to rip anyone off. I'm just trying to get back most of my losses, and inviting people
to look at the car in person. If someone doesnt think it's worth $1100 or near that they are welcome to walk away. It needs alot of work but what
$1100 split kombi project doesnt?
I just hate when people who have no interest in a car on the 'for sale' section feels it is his/her obligation to give an opinion on what the car is
worth. People are not stupid and if I am asking too much then so be it..the car will not sell,
However I reckon the price is about the going rate, and is a bit under what it owes me so how is that unfair by me?
I also am guessing that Phat Rat will edit his post at some stage to make me look like a dick who has overreacted to some 'minor' criticism. We
shall see what happens.

The post is now gone, however I haven't removed his name from your posts, which you guys might wanna do now, like the post was never there.
IMHO, the price is fine mate, and you won't have any drama selling it for that price if they are keen enough.

THE LOWEST WITH THE MOSTEST BLING BLING WINS!!

Yeah dude, can I take a look tonight? (Monday 21/3) You're just around the corner from me, and as I was riding to work this morning, I saw the rear
end, and thought I should call to see whether or not you'd consider selling her. And now I see this post, and WOOHOO.
Sorry, I've been looking for a splitty for ages. Need 'the right one', ya know.
Cheers dude!
Aurel.
