Loss of heater with Subaru motor.
Just had a thought whilst working on my Type 3 conversion. What do I do about a heater once the EJ20T motor goes in? I know the EJ22 is popular in the
buses so is there a way to keep a heater? May be a stupid question!

all you do is get a toyota landcruser ( troop carrier ) ( PC ) rear floor mount unit and plumb it up .You can run ducting to the windscreen as well .

Subaru setup is not standard. Just make sure that the heater & vents you choose work the same was as the Subaru one - Eg. the water must always be
flowing through the heater core regardless of whether you have the heater 'on'. You open/close the air vents to control the amount of heat entering
the cabin.

yup, thats what was done on my bus, heater unit under the front seat with really long water pipes up to it. i ave since scrapped that as i thought it
was asking for trouble running water so far. if i get done for no demist at rego i will just buy an electric one.

easy mate - just plumb in one from Pick N Payless to the front half of your cooling system. Plumb it in 'parallel' to the radiator. Then use some
12V boat bilge blowers to 'power' the demister...

should be outlets for the heater on the engine, there was on mine, up the front, had to do a Uturn on mine cos i havent fitted a heater, so no need to
work into rad hosing.

just put a heater unit in your boot and hook up the factoy ducts. In the kombi I used a modified 60 series heater, plumbed into the the factory ducts.
