Blue beetle convertible in Newcastle (THE.DUB) plates

i spotted a blue late 60's early 70's beetle convertible with empi 8 spoke mags in the shell servo at Wallsend in Newcastle.
It had the plates (NSW) THE.BUG

is it anyone from here?
