Just wondering how much a late bay twincab would be worth in decent condition?

Interesting tonneau cover idea on that DD from Carsales.com.

Bit of a pain getting things in and out each day, although I can see he has made an attempt to water-proof the tray area. Most water instrusion happens at the base of the gates where it seeps under onto the tray, the corners where the gates meet, and in the area directly behind the cabin.

Good effort, though.

My twin set me back $6,500, but that was an exceptional bargain. This one looks in the same ball park - you'll just need to check the floors and under the tank area. But not a bad price as a complete starter if the rust is minimal.

Twin Cab Wanted

Hi,

I was in Canberra last week and spoke to a guy at a VW specialist Service place and he had a 75 Twin Cab that was at a glance looked solid and complete. It has an 1800 motor and is currently registered.

I thought it was a gret deal at a glance.

He also had a 73 Single cab complete and solid with an 1800 and rego.

let me know if you want the details.

If you are in Sydney, I want to get a car from him too!

Give me a call.

Cheers,

Calcool

my old 72 (early front, late back) was sold before Xmas for $7500.00 to local guy. It did have Indian lowering kit, and had great tray and gates with no rust, usual 30 year old battle damage and needed a fair bit to repaint it.

My advice would be that repairing them is quite expensive as there are a lot of fiddly bits to fabricate if you need them. Gates and tray are the big areas, though I know Indian have repair sections that they've had made.

I'd say that a crap one would be $4-5k with everything to do, a good one $5-8k and something that looks shmick would be $8-12k, a V6er or Sube'd would be lots more.

Panel work and rust work on cc's is time consuming, so expensive - as a former owner, I'd suggest that you put $12-$15k aside for a nice one, and if that's too scary, don't buy one, as a rat will be a money pit unless you're good at fabrication and panel work.

Running gear is same as windowed buses, not a drama.

I'm a fan of Kimm at Indian, what he don't know about CCs aint worth knowing. http://www.kruizinwagon.com.au

There is no such thing as a rust free dual cab from what I have seen. If you do buy one just make sure you check it out very well as most have rust in the rear sills due to getting in via the tray.

I bought one for just over $7000 sight unseen and it has rust but is the nicest driving dual cabs I have been in. Now it has an EJ 22 in the back and cruise control it is a great rig and cruises nicely with style.

very practicle car and pulls a good load hehe.

skh in moorebank have a brazillian import dc for sale at the moment i thinks the guy said it was a 78 model or something it was a left hooker now converted to rhd ,i could not find any rust in it anywhere (did not look underneath), the gates are like new , interior needs attention very ordinary needs some tlc for sure , the body is very straight bar a few small dings here and there overall alittle scruffy but original paint and i think around 5k, its a little bit different with a bulkhead the same as a split screen bus ,has the front pressed into the front skin and round bumpers seems a good solid bus
