well i have found out that racing starts on Saturday afternoon with a short course then sunday starts at 8 am with 2 sections of 3 laps each. so it may pay to leave by 5.30am from the caltex servo at the start of the bruce hwy on Sunday morning.
It is located just before landcruiser park at Jimna. so to get there you head up the Bruce Hwy turn off at Caboolture then head towards Jimna then turn right at the monument in the main street and follow that for about an hour hit dirt road then look for the red fridge 15min after the start of the dirt road. turn left and follow all the way
Sounds easy. it is usually a good road so any road car can get there. Let me know if interested and weather you will make your own way there or follow. we can meet at Caboolture/kilcoy for anyone not in Brisbane.

If you follow the main road into Jimna, you head past the Fire Tower and continue on down the dirt road towards Landcruiser Mountain Park, you will see a red fridge on the left side of the road marking a driveway, turn down there and follow the road for a few kilometers and you cant miss it. Apparently it is the same property they used for the Rally Sprints.
I navigated for my bosses son Tait. Class 5 Gemini. We didnt have much luck, broke the car on the recon, and got towed around the prologue track, managed to repair just in time for the start but because we didnt prologue had to start at the rear of the field. As we were starting the lead cars were coming through on their second lap which was interesting.....
We got about 2/3 of the way through the first lap and coming out of one of the creek crossing broke the tail shaft....oh well thats racing.
Did I mention it was bloody cold......LOL :thumb

Jimna has had approx 50mm of rain over the last week so it won’t be too wet up there. - One of the organisers.

The Long Course Off Road Event, “The Arrows Express Endurance Challenge” is defiantly all stations go so Saturday the 2nd and sunday the 3rd.

due to life ill only be able to go up for the saturday arfternoon section but still should be good stuff.

Cheers everyone!

just got back. went up friday. and stayed untill 1pm saturday (only got to see about 2 races) because i have a shift at work tonite at 6.30pm.

wag u said it was the 1st and 2nd:sniffle: so i got the wrong day off. .......nah no hard feelings it was good fun anyway. i took my baja around the short course with a bloke andy in the passenger seat who races a little 3 cylinder turbo powered buggy. too bad it was about 11pm and dark as all hell and with mist fogging the window up i could only idle around for lack of vision.

if anyone is thinking about going for the drive its worth it, saturday is just the short course and they will be doing the long course on sunday.

my mate got some great pics on his digital camera so ill post some up tomorrow nite if i get around to it.

Nick

ps: very nice to meet you jonny b. you're a great bloke.
