Hi

He is a member of Club VeeDub Sydney, I have never met him, he was at the Motorfest and he used to work for VW Australia and won an award for an advert he designed that was used all over the world. I think the valuer was a bit off, $9,000 for a 59 bug? Nice car though.

The "valuator" seem to be a bit of a tosser. He knew nothing about VW's - kept referring to the "popular split windscreen model"... i think he was refering to ovals as split bugs are to rare to be popular. He didn't even know what the semiphores were called. I really dont think some one of this caliber should be valuating something they have very limited knowledge in.

I saw that show. The 59 looked like a really good one. The guy paid $5k to $6k for it 3 years ago I think. The $9k was probably a bit optomistic, but the value would have to be somewhere in the middle.
Makes that one that Dave Becker has posted look like a real bargain.

I actually went to buy this car from Muswellbrook about 1 year ago !!! $5k, bloody nice ! unfortunately somebody used replacement( I think brazil guards)on the front or back, can't remember ! Had the same silicon leads etc. No rust , perfect pan etc excellent respray. Good buying at 5k. I was the first to see it, but had no cash !!
$9k "tell him he's dreaming"
