Other Forum...

Just made the mistake of checkin out a Subaru Forum. Can't say which one for obvious legal reasons.

Now I know why I hate new cars.

It was all,
"had to get the dealer to check my oil level..."
or
"thinking about some new speaker, will they fit in the standard doors? how much to have them installed..."
or
"what is the best wax for my car..."

talk about lah de dah.

People on this forum want to get their hands dirty. And that even goes for the ones who know they can't do much.

You should try and reason with some of these people when they bring their cars in for a service..."My washers don't work,this car is a pile of junk it's only 3 weeks old and the washers are broken". Reply "put water in the washer bottle":yes: That was for real.....

I had a mate with a Sigma [not a good start] many years ago. It had a warning light come on, so he took it down the the local mech. Couldn't remember which light it was so the mech. had to go all over the car. $50 worth of labour later, it was the washer reserviour. He felt pretty silly. Served him right for buying a sigma I reckon. :puke

I agree,

it's funny the people asking about stupid stuff like that in one post will be giving advice on a twin tubo set up in another. Crack up!

Hi

I asked on a Subaru forum about the usual oil pressure that they see, this the response i got.

Hi

Im going to buy an oil presuure gauge for my car, what sort of oil pressure do you guys normally see? Would I need to buy a 5 bar (72 psi) or 10 bar (145 psi) guage?

Steve
================
i got a blitz pressure guage.. the gauge reads upto 10 something.. pressure goes up to 7, spends most of its time around 6. goes around 2.5 and 3 on idle when warm.

go here for a pick of it... its the BLM series, that lights up blue.
===================
Hi

Thanks for that, your gauge should have some tiny writting on it and it will say what sort of measurment it is, could you check for me next time your in your car.

Thanks, Steve
=================
I have a HKS guage.

Mine has simliar 1 to 10 rating.

Sits on 3 at idle and rises very quickly to 6 if you are driving around. It stays pegged at 6 constantly when driving hard.
=====================
Hi

Thanks for that. 5 bar = 72.5 psi. So I think I had better get a 10 bar guage otherwise it will spend a lot of time off the scale.

Steve
=================
Definitely want at least 100psi gauge, my car almost got that at startup ~95psi. So you don't want something lower as you may damage the gauge.
