Splitty windows
When putting the front windows is using a sealant beneficial? Or is it better to put them in without sealant?

I would use a sealant! Use extra and wipe off the excess!
Cheers Marc

order]soft] ...take a pick.both ways work! cheers steve

lester we are all entitled to our opinions....ever taken out windows from factory supplied cars, you will quickly discover no sealer was ever used..of
course we are talking of the non bonded glass type...as i stated both ways work....I use the factory recommened way .your statement our family
buisness isn't doing a proper job is false....cheers steve

50 years has faaaaar more experience than 20 Lester (unless u repeated the first year 19 times with no increase in knowledge and tech specs) !
Been lookin at vw fo over 50 yrs but the last 3 have been the most significant as ALL the experience adds up and pays off.
When restoring cars ya hate it when it's NOT BL. ORIGINAL quality, authentic workmanship or parts or colour or F A B R I C (rags ) so i back Steve
all the way...less mess less cost less rags for wipn less work MORE quality anytime !

as its been said if the frame is in good nick and the seal is new you wont need any window sealer plain and simple.

sigh! Its like as though there is a lester plague going around. Its makin' me go nuts
GO the factory method all the way, but as rhddlxbd said, ever way is good. 50yrs of experience is priceless. If u go the factory way, u shouldn't
have any troubles and shouldn't have any excuse for doubts, cause u know that that way was the original professional engineered way upon which was
used over MANY HEAPS of em', and has not had a history of being in a trouble (from what ive heard).
Use ur instinct and niggling feelin'. What i say is mearly words, hope it may clear things up.
