Reduction housings on T1 box?


Is this posible and if so what is involved? Or would I be better off putting a Kombi trans in?????????:bounce

I think you would have to flip over the R&P inside the box as the reduction boxes change the direction of the drive, i.e 4 speeds in reverse and 1 forward

The Country Buggies use the 1300 engine, normal bug tranny and kombi reduction hubs, so yes - it can be done.

I have a mate (into off road racing) who has made an adapter (read new housing on one side) to mount the reduction hub to the gearbox. Will try and get some info and pics together.

(There was some discussions on this subject at the old ezboard forum)

Some of the baja guys in the states put in the early Kombi boxes with the reduction boxes.

Graeme, I'd be interested to see some photos. There was lots of discussion about it, as you said, but it never resulted in any pics, so I'd be really keen to see them. :)

Thanks guys- all info will be greatly appreciated as i know not much about gearboxs etc (learning fast tho).
Some pics of the adapter plates would be great is posible.
