baja bugeye kit legalaties
Hi. I just bought a 68 beetle with a bugeye baja kit. The car hasnt been modtaged for the kit. I have heard that I may have problems getting it taged
in QLD. Woul anyone know if I will be able to leave it as it is or will I have to get a wide eye kit instead, or another idea I had was to take tha
light out of the nose and fit light on the front bar. This is my first go at working on a VW and any help with sorting out the problem would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Raymond

I love the bugeye look, so I reckon it would be a shame to change it.
All you need to do is buy a pair of spotties for the bumper, switch the lights out of them with the ones in the nose. That way, the main beams are
more than 600mm apart and the nose has spotlights. All legal and just appears that you have a set of spotties on the front.
Oh, and welcome to the forum mate. Hope you have fun while linking up with all the other dubbers in here.

ha ha.
yeah ive got a bug eye kit on mine.
no lights in the nose cone just buggie lights on arms from under the guards which sit behind the bullbar if that makes sense. they are better seperate
to the bullbar as if i hit somehting with the bullbar the lights dont get wrecked.
or
u can get a set of wide eye front guards and put lights in them too and have the 4 headlights. then they are far enough apart.
the reason its dangerous is because if a car is pulling out in front of you and they see your lights because they are close they think the car is
further away than it is.
