de-chroming bumpers

I want to colour code the bumpers on my superbug. Can someone tell me the best way to dechrome the bumpers effectively?

Cheers Allan

Mate, I think the proper process is to acid dip them to strip the coating. I might be wrong though. I think a place that does the chroming will prob be able to help you.

Cheers

Look up electroplaters in the local phone book.

I had 2 bars stripped a few months ago for a case of beer. They liked Tooheys Red,

Prior to that i had 2 stripped for my 65 Orange Smoooothie and it cost $40

You only have to have the chrome stripped, but ask for the rust to be dipped as well. The nickle and what ever else is under there will be OK to paint over.

If you carnt find a place in Newcastle there are plenty in Sydney
