namby pamby bug beam deals are all that they want to register over here Simon...
A couple of guys have looked in to the I beam set up here and the word is, "Suspension PRE-Dates the build of the car" so No GO...
Later suspension (eg Mitsubishi L300) might make it through, but they are bulky and not real pretty...
Perhaps indipendent double A arm might be the go if you really want to do away with bug suspension..
The I beams do look COOL though hey....!!!

LOL!.. I hought that would get a reply from u Danny! He, he!
Yeah I know the problems, believe me!
No one out there could justifiably say that the I-Beam would have superior handling than the OEM set-up a VW either.... But it sure would be nice to do it!

I wonder if we could do one if we built an entirely new chassis? Prolly not cause it would still be based on the VW drive train components.... HiTek style front ends don't do it for me so thats out... There has to be a way around this dilema!

So hows your rod coming Danny?

Those rims are classic hotrod fare... The are Kesley Hayes Repop's of standard early FORD parts.... A lot of other cars from that era ran rims like them.... You can get them in all sorts of sizes and widths these days...
