72 Super back on the road...
Hey Y'all,
Long time no post....
Anyhoo, i've FINALLY got my beloved superbug back on the road! :bounce
After a few months in mechanic hell, the rear suspension has now been replaced, lowered, the engine re-tuned, spark plugs changed and leads changed,
air-filter cleaned.. in short, it feels like a new car again.
I just got it blue slipped (yesterday) and green-slipped and rego will be on the cards for tomorrow.
The paint copped a few nicks (while being at the mechanics, so a sand and a respray has been ordered...
So if all goes well the car will be at the nationals on the 19th...
BTW: who's doing what? will it be the nationals, or Bug-in that most are going to?
I wanna unveil my beauty to the VW scene.... so i just wanna know the right place to do it.
Thanks for listening, i'm so glad it's been mended back to full health and it's getting some new clothes
Over and out,
Yianni

I know EXACTLY what you mean about scratches "appearing" at the mechanics.
I had a bad run with my 73 - it took 3 months to get the work done (partial rewire, tune, gearbox build and rego) and I dont know how many phone calls
and visits just to keep the guys working on it.
And then it comes back with nicks on 50 or 60% of the panels !!!!!
But at least it is on the road now, and I am back in the land of Fahvergnugen again , after a brief foray into the Japanese copies....

Yeah it's real hard to find a honest and 'eager' mechanic that actually wants to finish the job. But the "nicks" and
"dings" and scratches that show up are unbelievable... i don't understand how they can just do that and think no one will notice.
Anyways, as you said...
when the job is FINALLY done, it's a small issue that can be dealt with.
