Ah, the fun of driving a kombi with 6 times as much power as it was ever meant to have

Well, just drove my dads v6 kombi again for the first time in 6 months, and I would have to say its the most fun i've ever had on 4 wheels. There is absolutely nothing like the feeling of driving a crappy looking van, pulling up to a set of lights and watching the cars behind you quickly disappear as soon as you put your foot down. Its so easy and comfortable to drive too, being auto. Cant wait till I do the conversion on my beetle....

Yep, my old man used to work for CBB. VN commo V6 with ported and polished heads and 2 inch exhaust, type 3 auto transmission. Radiator on the bullbar. This bus was the test mule for quite a lot of CBB products.

If only that one was drivable, that V6 went hard as well, although it had more grunt than the commodore V6 in the top end.

know exactly what you mean.
I had a '73 bay with a VP v6. lots of fun.
Now I have a T3 with an EJ20t.
The v6 bus was a lot quicker out of the blocks, but the turbo catches up real quick.
It's quicker than a VY commodore and a BA falcon.
I proved that last night.

Did the motor fit under the cargo area floor or did you have to modify the cargo area floor for it to fit?

I am planning this conversion and it looks like it would be a tight fit under the cargo floor.

Did / does the throttle body come too close to the petrol tank cover?

Cheers

the cargo floor is fine for the V6, but the petrol tank cover needs modifying to clear the throttle body.

engine fits fine under the cargo floor.
I had the petrol tank covers removed.

a 4agze supercharger will fit under there too, without any problem, just incase you wanted to know. :P
