valla fuel consumption, how did you go?

48 mpg out of my 1500 :D but then I did cheat by it being a triple diamond 1500.

Somewhat amazingly, I got to nambucca and put in 32.19 litres, then got back here.... and put in exactly 32 litres. But the first tank included a trip to raleigh and a few valla-nambucca-valla loops. So I actually used more fuel slipstreaming fish at a steady 100kmh than I did at 5-10kms over the speed limit on the way up.

:duh

I used about $30 to $40 each way. I used about a litre of oil (At the most, even with the oil leak!)

I got about 60mpg (~4.7L/100km) last time I went to Valla. That was when I rode my motorbike :D

The V6 gets about 31mpg (a bit over 9L/100km) on the highway at the moment, even with the hideous Baja aerodynamics. It's obvious the aerodynamics suck because it gets about 28mpg (10L/100km) around town. 1 oxygen sensor is dead so it may get better if I fix that...

It gets about the same economy as the 1915 VW engine did.

I got about 7.5 L/100 kms out of my 75L with 1916

Was bloody happy with that.

I was under the speed limit all the way

Penriff to Valla (return) ... $175.00, 1600TP doing 95/110. Very happy with that, but then Im used to watching the T3 fuel guage doing its diving act. Two stop on my 35 litre tank. Thats gotta be good value.

anyone here tried a hyclone fuel saver on a vw??

am real interested as they're supposed to increase power also.....

my Seat Cordoba does 6.5 L and less if i go under the speed limit.

that and smooth driving with favourable elements gives the best consumption on well-tuned cars. incl good brake adjustment !!!(not too tight)

I have no idea!!!!! Just fillled up when I got down to 1/4 full. I am so useless when it comes to information like that! Rod tells me that my 2.0L NB averaged 7L / 100km and that was doing a tad over the limit (slowed down to smile at Mr Plod!)

Ok that didn't seem to work the first time so here goes: I got about 9L/100km on way down but was closer to 10-10.5L/100km on way back cos wasn't trying to drive economically. I'm happy with that for a fully laden '68 1500 s/port. I'm not going to bother with any other fuel other than optimax or ultimate because it runs too sweet on it.

put the twin-cab on the dyno on tuesday and set-up the 44mm IDF webers on the 2.5litre type-4 tow engine before heading off from Wollongong . Towed 'MANGO' on the open-trailer this year and the ute was packed with tents , sleeping equipment , tools , fishing gear , esky , clothes , 6m x 4m marque and lots of other crap .
got 16mpg which was great compared to last trip to valla with the enclosed trailer at 10.5mpg .
This year it cost me $320 in fuel alone... but worth it for the valla experience !!
