Many shades of primer...well, actually not anymore!
It's a 1964 Beetle.
mechanical:
- 1500 single port, stock.
- front lowered w/ drop spindles, 3.5" narrowed beam,
- rear lowered 2/2 splines at the rear, notched spring plates
exterior:
- painted satin black, with custom mix red sides with fire red metal flake over the top. satin white scallops.
- britax ragtop
- whitewalls w/ hankooks on standard rims
interior:
- jvc hu with a pair of phoenix gold 4", a kicker amp and 10" sub
- ratty original interior.
- fuzzy dice!
lots of other little details, but that's the basics.

-----------------
old post:
Hey i'm Dan. Just realised i didn't have a thread in here
Mine is a 64 Beetle. Pretty much stock apart from a 1500, and whitewalls. Oh, and the ragtop that's in it now.
edit - and the new paint!
it's a Britax one from the 70's apparently. I would've loved a weld-in one, but that's more effort and $$ that i cbf with - let alone tackle
myself. And this is just a bolt in - nice and easy...well, 6 hrs easy.
cutting a hole is hard.

and pics of it installed.

and a few pics i took today.

and yes, i know - it needs to be slammed, let alone painted!
not a bad weekends' work - especially whenh it's coming up to summer

This is the plan:

LOL @ sunscreen. The jigsaw idea was a very good one. i had to hack a bit more from a couple of spots at the front with an angle grinder, but apart
from that was all good. Cheers again
And yeah, i know it needs to be lower. Just have do decide how to do it (adj beam/drop spindles/both) and have the money!

love the mockup - esp the white highlight on the door.. DO IT. All you need is an adj beam, or just a beam that has had it's torsoni bar mounts
turned the right amount for a ... hmmmm 3.5 inch drop by the looks of your bug.. then you just take the rear torsion bars out of the back and install
them again a couple splines down! Viola! slamm city!

trip to canberra and back, stopping along the way

Then my t-bar bumpers arrived, so had to wash all the bugs off the car...you've no idea how weird it felt to wash primer LOL
And finally have made a numberplate bracket so that it's not held on with a bumper bracket stuffed throught the horn grille and held on with green
tie wire hehe
