the running boards are from remmele-motorsport.com they would post them out and they weigh 500g each so would not be expensive ,
would put them in my backpack if it was 4feet long stage two is a new
suspension setup as i am running a turbo motor and lets just say there are times i nearly
plop my pants when it lets go

Thanks for all the replies,i will try to answer all the questions, the car is on the germanlook forum,a good source of technical info.
the cae shifter is brilliant ,i had to add an additional plate to the base to stiffen it up but it now works perfectly and only 1.5-2" of throw
between gears .
The shifter can be bought at http://www.gwd-weiser.de/index2.htm if you go to
the news tab on the right and scroll down the first page .
the car is turboed it has a garret t04-60 hybrid mounted over the gearbox there are some more pictures on this germanlook threadhttp://www.germanlook.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=7136
unfortunatly the car suffered a bit of detonation the other day and split the no3 cylinder so it's not running at the moment (gives me a reason to
take it apart when i get back ):P anyway i am flying to thailand on tuesday 3 oct into a miliatry coup so the car is least of my worries at the moment

cheers jon

Love the car!

Hey, can you tell me how much oversize your wings are? And can you tell me what mods you made to fit the porsche hubs and brakes onto the front! Did
you have to narrow the beam etc?

I'm slowly building a GL on a 61 cabrio on an IRS chassis,

Thanks

Steve

Did you make your air cleaner ducts or purchase?

If you made them have you got a spare pair?

At the risk of misunderstanding what you were referring to....the housings on top of the thottle bodies are actually part of the turbo system and the
pipework is so the forced induction charged can be routed to the right place. Nothing to do with air cleaners though (my apologies if you were
referring to something else). :thumb

By the way, what sort of fuel injection setup have you used? You car is fantastic - I've seen it on germanlook forum and drooled over it already!

I understand what the inlet system on a turbo must do! But I am interested in the housings in the top of the throttle bodies.

Judson ,the housings are the standard c.b Pertformance pressure pots ,i reversed them and used 4 additional hold down studs to stop leakage
,eventually i am going to make some custom pressure pots in a y formation out of 2" tube but got a world tour to get through first :P

Das at the moment i am running a cb system with 400cc injectors and ignition off the dissy ,the injectors are to small so have got some 660cc :thumb
injectors ,i have seen an ems stinger system made in oz which you can use ford ztec sensors and coil packs so i may be making a purchase (girlfriend
won't notice a little box like that in my rucksack will she ?):P , hopefully with all the adjustment available i will not split another barrel
(detonation )

Matara i used porsche monoblock calipers off a 996 c4 , i narrowed the beam 2" used cb 2"dropped spindles and for the hub carrier i just ordered a
set of front disks with porsche pattern, aftermarket disks are thicker and dont have webbing .I turned the disk off it and used it as the carrier
for the porsche disks , bought some 40x40 mm ally square bar and then just mock them up on the disk and drill the holes to suite , the first one took
6 hours the other 3 took 1.5 hours each the rears are v easy if you use porsche arms the wings are 60mm wider on the rear and 30mm on the front ,they
took a while to get used to but i now think it makes the car look like a huge vampire bat out for blood

anyway i hope this helps feel free to ask anymore questions

cheers jon

Speedo,

do you have a firewall to keep the heat from the turbo/exhaust out of the engine bay?

no i don't but then there is no heat at the back of the engine where the fan is as the heat is all above the gearbox ,i installed an extra cooler so
there are two and the car will sit at 80mph all summer long
