Removing a bumper bracket

Some Nazi decided to weld the bumper bar bracket to the mounting on the body. How can i get it off, short of getting an angle grinder (i dont own one) is there anyway of drilling it off? I would like to keep the bracket.

Ideas?

H

You will need to carefully angle grind the bumper bracket off the body bracket if you want to keep the body bracket.

One common reason for welding them on is because the nuts underneath have stripped threads, or they have broken bolts in them. In this case you may wish to remove the body bracket as well. To do this you can drill the spotwelds out that hold it on, and then restore it or put another body bracket off another bodyshell on.

You might take the guard off as well make it easier to get into the weld area
