PLZ HELP NB power windows died


Power window on the d\s went down yesterday and never came up again, pulled the door apart and found that the cable snapped that runs in the electric window mech, called VW and a genuine new unit is approx $830!!!

Has anybody bought these aftermarket or where i can get a good s\h unit urgentily ??

Give Vintage a call I know they have aftermarket for Golfs so they might be able to get forthe NB

Did some more resarch today and found out that VW an updated repair kit for these elec windows were they replace the plastic cable drive body with an alliminum one
that retails for only $145

fitted tonight and all working sweet again

There is a post on this somewhere. Check for a post from "beetlegirly" or something like that. She went back to VW and complained, and they fixed it all at their cost.
