engine bracing help!!
Hi guys from england,
I am currently completing a subaru conversion to my 1303s german looker.. have bought donor engine and parts (1992 legacy turbo with the sacred VOS
chip!!)
and am itching to get started however.. i am really concerned with engine bracing/ building a trapeze so my lil baby doesnt shake its self a apart. i
have already decided on movin the g box forward 45mm for extra room and am uaing heavy duty rear trans cradle, reversed and mid mount. I understand a
few of you subaru v dubbers in os have already done this!!! I am basically sh*t scared about bracing so need your advice. i wanna get it right so have
you guys got any pictures, dimensions, recommended budget for this .. some guidelines from someone who has done this would be bloody brilliant!!!
this forum looks quality by the way!!!
cheers

Cant help with this one, but have u checked the tech section. Search the boards for subi conversion there was something on here i remember reading it.
Just cant remember where..
Keep the steering and the propulsion seperate . Still a Kombi...
It's all good, until it's bad, i suppose

Normally, with a hipo VW engien you would brace from chassis forks to teh underside of the parcel shelf. But with a Subie turbo conversion, you need
to cut some of that away. Maybe try a Kafer Cup brace?
