radiator opening on pre-67 bug
would like to hear from anyone who has placed a radiator in the spare wheel area.
this is what I had in mind (see link below) but my bug (a '66), has less area for fitting the grill.

anyone with a pre-67 bug care to share photos of the front with radiator installed.

Yuk. Much better - visually - to come in from the sides and forward lower of the spare wheel well (under the guards). Sorry, no pics...

Thats not a real good look IMHO... I have seen a conversion that had a scoop built under the front apron that was actuated when the key was turned. I
think the scopp was made out of the spare wheel well floor section. When the car was parked, no one was the wiser, when the car was on the go only a
small scoop below the bumper could be seen..... You actually don't need a huge inlet... My brothers WRX powered Notch only has a slot around
300mmx100mm below the front bumper... Hardly noticable.... And a mate uses a late LBug (aircon) apron on his WBX powered bug.... Just make sure your
duct shrouding is well sealed and not obstructed, into and out of the radiator....

It's probably wrapped up in a blanket as it's winter over here in Europe.
Send Jorgen a U2U and ask him

i think i like this (subaruboxer's) setup, will probably emulate it. i like the adjustable scoop touch, the attention to detail I see everyday among
vw enthusiasts never ceases to amaze me. cheers

I have had various fronts on mine including similar to the ugly one..I have always ran the scoop underneath and found it essential...that is all I
have and the front looks totall stock..I have made a box frame to hold the rad in now as you have to cut a fair amount away behind to get pressure
drop and draw through. the frame now makes the front edge of my fuel tank mounting point and boxes forward from there.
