Found this while cruising thesamba. Apparently one of his straps broke and it was a new one!! All his old ones were fine

where did they put the straps????
if they had several on there then i cant see how one snapping will let the car move.

those straps never break.. i have used all sizes of straps for years.. if you do it properly .. don't use frayed straps... even the $20 straps work great.. He's a git

the green passat is up to 1994, a 92 model looking at the plate, then they "face lifted" them slightly, then in 1996 they totally re-vamped them with full on computers n stuff,
i had a 96 1.9 turbo diesel, fuel is expensive in the uk so i used to run mine on used veg oil, clean it, dry it, the free fuel for me, yippee!!!
they are a very good car, galvo bodys, no rust, lots of speed and towing power!!
my 96 model pastit was the old one not the "new" one

chains? naaah! we towed each of my kombis home on a renta-trailer with only ropes and the handbrake on, got interesting on one occasion when the handbrake went as we were going over the curb into our drive :D
