 yet another old 54 pic

spose you are getting sick of my dads photos by now, but I found this one recently, taken August 1954, when the car was about 2 weeks old,it is the
only photo I have before the roof rack & if you look closely there are a few interesting things, 1stly it was fitted with a radio from new, that was a
few weeks pay in 1954, most people saved for a radio after they got the car, second thing is it has a suction cap sunvisor on passengers side, I dont
remember that, so it probably did not survive long in the sun. it also has a glossy shine to the paint, this tended to fast disappear on 50's bugs, I
dont ever remember it being shiney,

Please, I need drivers side window regulator (winder mechanism) for my '54

Excellent - yep keep em coming.

Incidentally, speaking of old photos, I found a photo on the net of my boat the other day - taken in 1945 when she was in the Navy. Fitted with depth
charges and .303 machine gun in those days - although the gun appears to be stowed in the photo unfortunately (waiting on a blow up from the War
Memorial to tell).

Another find was movie footage of Dad being captured by the Germans on Crete. Spotted it while watching a doco on the history channel - and got a
copy.
