Kiwi 63 Ragtop
Hay Everyone in AussieLand, Howz it going?
been a member for a while, thought I'd post up.
I've had the 63 for about 6-7 years now, bought it
after my first car, a 67 1300 from sweden, was totaled
in a 5 car pile-up. Has had "resto" some time ago, one day I'll redo it proper.
has a warmed over 1600 TP, 1500 gearbox, leagy front seats as the og drivers is a hole. I drive this bitch everyday and love giving it shit!!

thanks peeps, yep needs 3" chunk taken ouit of the beam and some drop spindles would be nice, I'm also thinkin 175/55 would also help get it on the
deck. but most of the time just keeping it running is enuff work! got to fix my starter this weekend.
heaps of cool cars on this site, keep up the good work yo.

That blue car doe's look pretty cool, but your front fenders won't thank you for those wide-ass rims, that's one of the reason's I got the
smart's up front.
cheers

Ive been told that Boris' colour is "VW Blue" (inventive name!) from the charts of 66-67 and that there were not too many churned out.
I was considering a colour change, but now I love it!

bingo, i knew someone on the forum had one in that colour but was racking my brains trying to remember who it was
a mate had a 68 semi auto that was vw blue too
except being a semi auto meant it was fully imported not built from CKD kits like regular beetles were so the german colour tag under the bonnet was
"VW BLAU"
heres some better pics of the same colour
PS sorry to hijack ur thread 63ragtop

Yep my 68 was originally VW Blue but it had been resprayed using spraycans before i got it so the blue didn't look so good
now i'm starting to like it again
sorry about hijacking your thread 63ragtop.....the ragtop looks neat as
68 Beetle - rebuilding
65 beetle - driving

Right, long time no updates!
so things have been happening, the ragtop looks like this at the mo.
I have been teaching myself to weld and use a grinder etc..
and have slowly worked my way up to pulling the car down to it's bare bones and off the pan.
rust was starting to get a grip so I took it off the road in 09 before it got worse.
has been really enjoyable for the most part, earning how to work the metal and I'm pretty proud that i have fabbed all the replacement panels myself
bar the rear bumper mounts.
more pics and shit here on my nz thread
http://www.nzveedubnuts.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5122
I've been enjoying everyones threads on here so fairs fair!
