VW Mag Aug-Oct - 56 Beetle
Does anyone know the colour (& code) for the 56 Beetle in the current VW Magazine Australia mag. Article starts on p38. Linky here VW Mag Australia
My 56 is the same colour & I can't work out the correct colour code. The colours on Samba & WW websites seem a bit too dark.
I also think the car in the article is a 57 model. Comments??

It's not a '57 model - Rita has the original purchase papers - 22nd November 1956. It's not every day I have the privilage of speaking to the
original owner of an Oval.
The car has also had a re-spray. The new paint is a close match, but you may have to allow for some slight variation. Rita showed me the original
books but I can not recall the paint or code - with a fantastic story like hers to tell, the colour of the car was just a cursory glance.

I loved the article. It was great to see an oval in such good condition and still being driven daily. I hope I can still drive a manual when I am
80.
The reason I thought it may be a 57 is that the serial number appears to be 124959#. The references I have put that as being built in August 1956
which make it a 1957 year model. (The 1949-1959 VW Beetle Bob Wilson Feb 94 & The Samba Chassis Dating Page)
