1303 heater channels
Folks need advice
am trying to rebuild GENE my beloved Bug ok shes a 1303 but dont hold it against her
i have had to rebuild the drivers side heater channel surround as some "person" left the car with a knackerd window seal. resulting in a
new floor, running board fixing plates and lower plate. the question i have is.......
the heater channel plate has two holes in the top where it should go into the body fixing, as it is welded the best part the length of the sides, and
the back, can i nick this off ? and just weld the bugger on ?!?!?
Also whats the easiest way to weld the 2 lips together plug weld? angle grid a bit of the lip off and weld then?
Error

Not sure if it is too late...
Check this site our, it's got fairly comprehensive instructions for replacing heater channels.
