75 Microbus Resto

Hi guys, just thought I would share my resto work with you. We bought this bus
http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x185/onetrackwonder/1975%20kombi%20restoration/kombiresto001.jpg
on the 15th of August, not long after this years Valla, a bit of my history and assosciation with busses goes back to 79 when I bought a 76 flipper blue camper selling that in 83 to buy my house, then bought a 76 riverina orange camper in 84 and had that until it was sold early this year, that had for about 14 years a porsche 5 speed and 4.4 litre v8 with 4 wheel disc brakes and still kept it as a camper/sleepeer, and all the work by me, now this bus will be a stocker engine and gearbox wise but will be lowered slightly, and interior will be basic with a rock and roll bed, here is the link to my photobucket site, hope it works, cheers Greg and Kath

Hey Bizarre there was minor accident damage that had been knocked out and filled with bog ,from one side to the other but the whole panel was not symetrical as it should be and I thought it would be easier to fix properly than to try and re-do, you could also see the damage in the panel from inside when the kick panels were removed sorry but I thought I had uploaded the pics, they are there now,
this is the passenger side and the drivers was pretty much the same

Thanks very much Steve sorry I have been away and far too busy, I will give you a call tomorrow the only problem that I have now is after all the hard work that I have done, I now have to part with her, I have decided to move house, I have about 7 car spaces in my garage and shed at my current house and I'm moving to a property with a one and a half car garage until I build a larger one and cant bring myself to store something as good as this outdoors, so its going to go, thanks to all that have followed the resto, I will be back again having owned a Volkswagen kombi for the last 30 years, I now have a 07 2.5 turbo diesel transporter, I have a beautiful 66 beetle that my wife loves and will be restored next and my daily driver is a 69 fasty so I'm not leaving the forum, I will post her up on the for sale section here first as I would like some one here pick up a good vehicle, if there is no interest she will go on ebay, cheers Greg
