NEKO UPDATE
NEKO UPDATE from the (23/11/08)
Removered:
Left running board
Both front inducator.
Both Headlight.
Left front fender.
Front Bumper bar.
discovered on left lower front quater panel near bottom passanger door a rust hole where two bolts go to connect the fender to the body just near the
passanger door bottom left corner.
after the shock.
gave it all a good clean with a wire brush and took photo's so I can see the damage up close later on and for documentation perposes.
Replaced the fender and started on the other side.
Semi-removed right hand front fender. well removed four bolts out of six then ran out of time.
I can only work on the car during weekends being it's at my folks house and last saturday we had to many rain storms to try and get there so it was
just sunday and he is outside under a shad cloth roof and has a car cover on him so it is hard to work on when raining.
Next weekend:
Total removal of right front fender to access damage (suspect rust in right lower quater panel).
Remove running board on right side.
Remove chrome from hood and front quater panels.

Update part 2 Date 16/02/09
It's been a while since last entry
Now I have just finished stripping the paint of the roof and the left front quater panel using Septone paintstripper.
It's quite easy to use and very effective two coats and get the body back to metal and it only takes about an hour all up depending on surface area
that you tacle at the time.
To do this job effectivley i broke the roof up into four section all up it took five hours yesturday ran out of stripper so i have to bu more.
But i figured it's something i can do a little each day after work and on the weekends.
Next is to take off the inside passanger door panel to remove the door handle so i can strip that next i have roughed up and started to sand back the
back panel on the left hand side.
working on the left hand side being it's the side i see all the time when i pass the car in the garage.
Till next time safe vdubbing.

Update part 3 Date 23/02/09
I have taken the door panel for the passanger door off as well as the window and door handle and lock have been removed from the door.
Left hand side window has been removed as well as the back window.
Some more paint has been removed from the back quater panel and the passanger door i have started working from left front of neko to back then right
front to back to get rid off all paint have discovered two big rust hole inside behind back window the size of a tennis ball.
Rust has also occured at the front corner of the wing near the door that's the size of a 50 cent coin
anmd tiny surface rust where the wing bolts onto the body in three places. will have to replace the lower front quater near the door.
The back quater there is more rust a bit more then the front quater near the lower end of the panel will have to replace a section there and there is
rust on the inside of the door so i might have to replace the lower part of the door to be on the safe side.
Next step is to finish of the door and rear panel to bear metal no paint then work on the right hand side of him with removing paint from the front
quater first.

Well Neko update: 29/06/10
It's been far to long on everything at this stage.
I have hand stripped 90% of his shell just got fenders and bonet and hood and around front window to do with paint stripper.
I am replacing all wiring so I have ripped out the wiring in the bonet and stripped the dashboard ready for stripping having trouble removing the
sterring column from inside the cab its unbolted and have no steering wheel or turning signals it just wont budge I dont think it's been off ever.
Now I have to deal with that as well as removing the wiring and front struts as well as doors so I can seperate the body from the frame hoping to get
started on welding it before christmas.
