Running a narrowed beam NSW

Anyone had any trouble with rego, or the police after installing a majorly narrowed beam, say a 5-6 inch cut beam without front shockies? If i got pulled over what are the chances a cop would even notice it didnt have front shocks?

I doubt if anyone would notice unless they were a VW
enthusiast... and hated modified VWs... lol

it IS illegal NOT to run shock absorbers in working condition

but many VW owners do run no shocks in the US...

I tried no front shocks on My beetle once
but the roads are too rough without them...
even the Highway is rough....

It would be hard to see if you have shocks or Not....
unless they have a mirror on a long stick.. lol

A cop usually jumps up n down on the front end to hear squeaks etc,so feeling a dull THUD may alert him to the lack of shocks!
Then ya buggered
Mines been lowered to 135mm to the lowest point on the car and yeah, the ride isnt that flash (pretty crap actually) but it looks good

Well, no squeaks in My beetle.. and I don't know How you drive with that sort of ride...

I have the front of my beetle lowered but I kept adjusting etc until it still looks good [to Me] and it still bounces when it hits a pothole or rough road...
I couldn't stand the bouncing without the shocks.. lol
and i couldn't stand gas shocks either.. too hard... lol

Maybe i'm too old.. lol
I do like a bit of comfort.... lol

You can go a true 4 1/2 narrowed beam using BUGBOYS custom shock towers. I had a 6 inch narrowed beam on my 65 beetle for a while and it was fine for driving around town etc, but sucked big time over 100k and roads with ripples / waves. Went back to the 4 1/2 inch beam after a month.

But the 6 inch narrowed beam did look bloody awesome. :tu:

My 2 cents, it's your ride.
