quick spin out to Colo River
Werl, nother friday, nother day off, nother case of wife much needing time to work on something without the help of little critters... Last week I
went up to Glenbrook. Yesterday, my daughter and I took a spin out to Colo River (little boys were down for a sleep). Maybe I need my head read, it
was 42deg today, but what the heck. Nothing wrong with some hot weather testing eh?
We drove out along old windsor rd and out past wilberforce. At the colo river bridge we turned off and headed up river to the bridge. When we got to
the bridge we put off having a swim and went for a quick burn up the mountain. Nice tight section of road with lots of tight corners. Course the car
handles better with rally tyres, but how fun are buggies! Loving the setup on my car now. Scandinavian flicks and such are a cinch. Hardly need the
turning brake except for haripins. Going up the mountain the car got a bit hot. 98 or so deg at the most but the fans fixed it (I put a manual fan
switch in after last week, I'll get around to doing it properly later). there was some carnage with the exhaust, but some cable ties and ingenuity
sorted it all out.
When we got back to the river. A couple of guys (riding the trail bikes) came up out of the river and informed us that the river was almost as warm as
the air. Sadly they were right. The river had to be 30deg or more. Eleanor was happy enough but it was too warm for me.
I only realised when I looked at this pic at home, how much this place means to my family. Liz and I sat on this bit bridge the first night we went
out. Funny I should take a pic of this section of bridge. Anyway, I got sick of the hot water quick and took a few more pics before heading for home.
If you look closely in the above pic, you'll note my codriver is drinking all the water in my camel back. She literally sucked it dry later on.
Can't wait to she gets old enough to do the same to my wallet...
Had to laugh. Took a little movie on my camera on the way home. Was watching the road the whole time, but I turned the camera on her for a minute so
soak up some of her "being the buggy" atmosphere. Had no idea what she was doing. What I got was some priceless footage of her mining for nosegold.
Gee I laughed hard.
