New...and need a bit of advice please! :)
Hi all!
New to this forum as well as being reletively new to this country having emigrated with my family in 2007 from the UK.
Not new to owning vw's though having had a 67 beetle and 69 bus, and my wife had a 71 beetle too....this was about 15 years back though!
We recently decided to get another Beetle as a 2nd car, and if all goes to plan we should be picking the car up tomorrow...a 68 Beetle (although
registered as a 66 due to having a 66 chassis from what we can make out)
My question is regarding seatbelts. We intend to use the car for school runs during the week and currently the car has lap belts only in the rear. We
need to make it safe for the kids to travel in the back so has anyone had normal seatbelts fitted to their Beetle and if so can you give us any rough
idea of cost and also who you'd recommend to carry out the work.
We are near Geelong.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give us!
Neil

hi Neil, welcome to the forum ,the best place to go to would be a seat belt and child restraint fitting station ,here is a link to a site that has
listings for victoria on it ,so you can find one close to you

Hi Pierre! Can i ask what the situation is in the eyes of the law on this as i'm currently having to do the school run with our daughter (4) in the
back, strapped into her car seat and then the lap belt across her & the seat. It all seems pretty secure but just wondering what would happen
should i get stopped before we get the points welded in on Wednesday (which would just be my luck!)
