If enough photo's and info could be sort it would be great to rev it up the V8 boys with an article in Australian Muscle Car Magazine .
As much as this sounds wrong to some of you , you'dd be surprised as to who out there started there careers in a dak dak ie: Larry Perkins .

I believe this is Barry Ferguson, who battled with the mini behind him the whole race, until the mini rolled on the last corner! hahahaha

I think it is funny looking at the bathurst beetle and mini's, that they are still running full interiors.

Yes, I have a few. Please bear with me while I work out how to post photos. I have a some of Bathurst, Catalina Park, and Silverdale in 1962-63, in
the Beetle, as well as F.Vee, late '60s, and the S Bug Sports Sedan, late '70s.
By the way Barry Ferguson & Bill Ford won (Class A) in 1963 - not 1964. I drove VW No.57A, with Graham White, in the 1963 race. We were 5th.
Cheers, Greg

Hi Greg
Great memories there, I'm glad your getting your head around this technology stuff so that we all can see this bit of VW racing history.

Hi Steve,
Can't claim all the credit! had some help from "isky" - thanks Anthony - and my son, David. Gradually getting there though.
Cheers, Greg
P.S. The 1962 Silverdale Records are a bit blurry, but time was 45.77 (class and outright Touring Car record).

Under the rules for the Armstrong 500 then, NOTHING could be removed - except hubcaps. They were completely stock! They even measured carby jet sizes
on the first 6 cars in each class!

Bit late but Caversham late 1964 -just after rolling start
Same period Beetle spun Caversham hairpin (Shell Corner)
and was in reverse-Studebaker hit front "gently" and spun back the right way-small dent on Beetle bonnet and Studie fan went through radiator
