Aussie chassis and engine numbers?


Where can I find a list of Oz engine and chassis numbers on the net? Because I know US and OZ models are a little different. Cheers

the Chassis: 195, 722, 033 indicates a Type 1 Beetle then the 9 indicates made in Aussie and the 5 indicates 1965

Hi bruizer,

You could always get a "birth certificate" for your vw from the Volkswagen AutoMuseum in Germany. They'll provide you with a reasonable amount of info including date of manafacture, orignial colours and destination port. They will also tell you if your engine number matches your chasis number. It will however cost you 35 euros, or about $70.
