I'dd love it too , but pretty sure i'dd get the same responce from the missus .
Bring it down to Coolangatta this weekend for wintersun , it'd be a hit and plenty people looking for such a ride to buy as Wintersun is a 50's and 60's themed event

I want to build one but the missus said she'd divorce me. She didn't say anything about my son not having one though:smilegrin:

Just go to Qld Transport and fill out a form i believe , they do ask you on the form if the vehicle is roadworthy , but i'mm pretty sure you can answer that one correctly if you get my drift .

despite rods not being my favourite style, i like it, im curious with the age if it could get a genuine roady though, change the exhaust - perhaps add some shrouding to stop stupid people burning themselves, cycle guards & it should be ok right?

You'll need to visit an insurance mob first RACQ, AAMI etc etc and pay a insurance fee (CTP) - its approximately $60 a day. QT charge $27 for the permit. SO its about $90 a day to drive an unregistered car. All you need is engine and chassis numbers when you go.
