back in the game..

Hi all, just thought i'd post in here after purchasing my not so new project car.

Had a look at it and purchased it last night, one of the most solid bodies i've seen with very minimal visible rust (I'm sure it'll hold a few suprises under the paint though).

Its been about 10 years since i sold my last VW which was my first car. A bright red '68 semi-auto with 1600 twin port. Will be good to work on something a little more basic again after having a modified LS1 in a HSV for 4 years. Got some big plans for this little bug but will have to talk to engineers first and see if what i want to do can be done legally. Has anyone managed to put an engine in the front of one in australia? I know there is a few around the world i've seen pics of but nothing local.

Look forward to being an active member of the forum... and getting off the Holden forums a bit, haha

Was this the red Beetle on Ebay with that baja kit on it?
If it is then i'm glad you are putting it back on the road as a beetle and not cutting it up to be a baja.
It looked to be a really clean original body
