Sub 2 minutes.
I faxed my entry over yesterday and got a spot. Entries closed on Monday apparently.
My aim is to finally do a sub 2 minute time.
I'm hoping the ADVAN A050s, the improved midrange power of the K8 cam and new exhaust will help.
The biggest question is, "Will I have the stones to hold it flat down the straight and through turn 1?" It scares the crap out of me just thinking
about it.
I'll do some runs with and without the rear swaybar to see which is faster.

If you put the rear bar on and then uprate the front I will guarantee you will be quicker..........If you just put the rear on i reckon you will go
slower as it will be twitchy at high speed, not what you want for holding it flat on turn 1 !!

Stooopid oil breather.
I've always said that the race track is good for bringing out weaknesses.
Before the VW nationals I replaced the stock oil filler with breather and drain pipe with one of the aluminium aftermarket items. At both the VW
national supersprint and at Eastern Creek on the weekend then engine pumped enough oil up to the breather box that it overflowed and splattered oil
all over the engine bay. Poo, bum, dicky, wee, wee!
Perhaps it was only just coping before. Now with the slightly smaller breather hose fitting and no drain hole the crank case breathing is inadequate
at sustained high revs. On the second lap I hit 6600 rpm in top down the straight after changing gear at 7000. When do you ever get to do that on the
street? Then there's the matter of the corner and oil surge.
It could be a broken ring causing excess crank case pressure too?
I'll compression test the engine to diagnose the ring. Then pull all the tinware off to give it a good degrease. Then I'll build a new breather
system with bigger lines, a bigger catch tank and an additional drian to the sump. I'll try and get the car back out to the track on a private
practice day.
I only did 3 sodding shakedown laps in traffic! I'm quite pleased with the easy 2:01.9 second run which was still faster than half a dozen cars could
manage all day.
I also got to see the Yokohama ADVAN Nissan GTR do a 1:37 second run.
That's racing (apparently).
I think Rudi did well. Sorry we didn't get to chat.
Oh and the K8 with 1.4s feels very strong exiting corners. I think I like it. The dyno will be interesting.
